I really should come up with a Game of Thrones type sigil for librarians and SRP. I’ll have to ponder that a bit (I’ll also take suggestions). But, I mainly wanted to hop on the blog and get something posted since I’ve not been in the writing mood as of late. Mainly I blame this:
We’re doing a lot of new things this summer (hopefully all are improvements), so this has encompassed my work-world more so than usual. I get home and the last thing I want to do is take the time to think/write about work. I’m also trying to support the Teen and Adult programs, am losing a valued team member during the summer craziness, and am taking a week’s vacation in the middle of May. So. Yeah. It’s been a bit crazy for me (but in an overall good way).
The above sign is on our whiteboard near the activity tables. Even with having flyers and small posters out and everywhere, we still get questions about when registration begins. I plan on adjusting the smaller text to update patrons on whatever I can (such as waiting lists or booklets) once registration has started. I may just include more imagery from the CLSP packet. All of that on the board is either printouts or construction paper (the construction paper being the red and yellow bursts). I used scotch tape to put it all together. Easy-peasy!
Please let me know if you have any questions – just because what I did makes sense to me, it doesn’t mean that it makes sense to anyone else (just ask my other team members).
Good luck to all the other library-world peoples reading this who are prepping for another SRP! We can do eet!!!
