StorytimeU NE

I’ve known about this possibility since mid-September, and I’m so happy to finally share this news with y’all:

I’ve been asked (and have excitedly accepted) the role as leader of the Nebraska Chapter of Storytime Underground! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Ahem.

Click here to read all about this exciting new aspect of Storytime Underground.

I’ve already created a StorytimeU NE chapter Facebook group. It’s open to anyone/everyone who’s in any way affiliated with YS librarianship in Nebraska (or if you’re in the area and don’t have a local chapter yet – feel free to join and see if you’d like to submit yourself as a potential leader she writes with Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, South Dakota, and Iowa in mind). Please feel free to send out invites to this group – the more, the merrier!

I think that it’s super important to point out that I’m one of the world’s biggest introverts, and so if given a choice between going out and staying home – I’ll pick home 99.99% of the time. But I have experienced the power, excitement, and fun of bringing YS Librarians together. This leads me to think that we can start off hanging out in the FB group, and once we get more comfortable with one another, then we can figure out if/when we meet up. I bring this up so that anyone chomping at the bit to get together feels free to bring up his/her desire for a meet up. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s that it’s neither my first nor natural inclination.

Please feel free to reach out in the comments or email me if you have any questions about this. I’m really thrilled to figure out how to make this chapter kick-booty and a wonderful resource for local peeps!
